The latest addition to my website is Ellis Sharp‘s Pig Tale. This is a very witty book, damning human foibles, told from the point of view of a five year old boar (i.e. male pig) called Ed. Ed manages to escape from the pig farm and we follow his adventures (which are being recounted to his fellow pigs after he has been recaptured). He hides in the woods, attends a music festival, where he almost kills Ed Sheeran and is horrified at the pollution of rivers and that humans have sex in the missionary position. He is captured but freed by animal liberationists and and has a close (yes…) with one of them. All the while Ed/Sharp is mocking humans, politicians (yes, even Trump), second-rate writers (Ed can read and speak English) and how dirty humans are. It is all very funny and a good story though carnivores and Conservative politicians may be less enamoured than others.
