The latest addition to my website is Fadi Zaghmout:‘s The Man of Middling Height. The basic premise behind the story is that in this society people are discriminated against not on the basis of their biological sex put on the basis of their height. People are divided into smalls and talls. The unnamed narrator falls for a man who is, as a title tell us of middling height. Which causes complications as he has to choose one but, illegally, sometimes switches to the other. The society very much frowns upon same height marriages so when one of her male colleagues,a tall,, gets a female tall pregnant there are serious repercussions at risk. She and her middling height boyfriend try to find a way out it all goes horribly wrong. Zaghmout clearly shows and discrimination in this society which is what happens in Arab society in the real world.
